Marriott International Luxury Group appoints Swen Ehlender as Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing for The Red Sea and AMAALA Portfolio

As Marriott International continues to expand its luxury presence across The Red Sea and AMAALA, the company is strengthening its leadership team to support the growth Saudi Arabia’s most luxury tourism destination. Designed to redefine high-end travel through exceptional hospitality, sustainability, and immersive experiences, The Red Sea and AMAALA are rapidly establishing themselves as global luxury destinations.
To support this continued growth, Marriott International has appointed Swen Ehlender as Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing across The Red Sea and AMAALA.
Swen brings extensive luxury hospitality and commercial leadership experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Commercial Director at Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre, where he oversaw sales, marketing, revenue management, reservations, communications, and catering for one of Saudi Arabia’s most recognised luxury hotels.
Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Swen began his hospitality journey after completing his hotel management studies in Germany. His career has since spanned leading international hospitality groups, including Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, InterContinental Hotels Group, Kerzner International, One&Only Resorts, Atlantis Resorts, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
With experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Türkiye, Swen has developed strong expertise in commercial strategy, market positioning, revenue growth, and luxury travel trends. He is known for his hands-on leadership style, transparent communication, and ability to build high-performing teams.
In his new position, Swen will be responsible for leading sales and marketing strategy across Marriott International’s luxury portfolio at The Red Sea and AMAALA, supporting continued growth, strengthening market presence, and driving commercial performance across the destinations.
