Lexus Presents an Exceptional Art Exhibition Fusing Creativity and Technology in Jeddah

Lexus Showcases the Artistic Work “Shaped by Air” Inspired by Its Electric Car Designs

In a unique and artistic initiative, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors – Lexus unveiled a remarkable artistic creation by the creative artist and designer, “Sochi Reddy,” titled “Shaped by Air.” This artwork aims to shed light on the harmony with nature and the environment, as well as the meticulous design and creative craftsmanship. It is displayed at Art Jameel-Jeddah.

“Shaped by Air” is an artistic masterpiece by the American artist, Sochi Reddy, inspired by Lexus’ electric sports car designs. It conveys a sense of harmony with nature and expresses an appreciation for the tranquility and the power of the natural world. It draws inspiration from light and its reflections, shaped by the air, which harmoniously blends with nature, encapsulating the essence and spirit of Lexus car design.

It’s worth noting that this creative artwork was first presented at the Art and Design Week in Miami and subsequently exhibited in a new version at the Global Design Week in Milan, alongside works and innovations of competitors for the Lexus Design Award.

Sochi Reddy is an American artist who began her artistic journey by founding Reddy Made in 2002, presenting works that emphasize design characterized by the emotional quality of human engagement in empty spaces, inspired by her motto, “Form Follows Feeling.” Her architectural and artistic practices are guided by her research on “Design and Justice,” intersecting with neuroscience and the arts.

Sochi Reddy is committed to expanding our concepts of empathy, justice, and participation. She teaches at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University, as well as the Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at Cooper Union. Additionally, she works as a critic at the American Walton University and serves as a distinguished professor at the College of Architecture at the University of Illinois.
