The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, in collaboration with the Saudi Organic Farming Association, is sponsoring the second edition of the 2nd BIOFACH Saudi Arabia.
The event will take place from November 19th to 21st, 2023, at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, King Abdullah Road.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Saleh bin Dakhil, explained that “BIOFACH Saudi Arabia” is the only international forum in the Kingdom specialized in the agriculture and organic products sector. It serves as the ideal platform for professionals in this field in the Middle East and North Africa region. The exhibition has achieved significant success in its first edition and is one of the most important international exhibitions in the region. It promotes investment in agriculture and organic products, attracting major investors, distributors, suppliers, and solution providers in the global organic products industry. He emphasized the growing global market for organic foods and beverages, reaching $198.1 billion in 2020, with an expected increase to $500 billion by 2027, as retail sales of organic foods continue to grow in 187 countries worldwide.
He also highlighted the substantial progress in the organic products sector in the Kingdom, thanks to Vision 2030. In the last five years, the organic production rate reached 98.77%, with 56.8% of total agricultural area dedicated to organic farming. The number of organic holdings increased by 175.86%, and the market value of organic foods exceeded 1.8 billion Saudi Riyals, showing a growth rate of 32.16% compared to 2018.
The exhibition features presentations from more than 50 local and international companies and agencies in the agriculture, organic products, and related sectors. The current edition is expected to attract strong participation from local and international companies, facilitating bilateral meetings, successful collaborations, and signing agreements for the supply of goods and services. The exhibition opens its doors from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM for three consecutive days.
