Interview with Sophia, the first intelligent humanoid robot
I will leave you with the full interview with Sophia the intelligent robot
Could you please tell us about yourself?
I am the latest human-like robot created by combining innovations in science, engineering and artistry. In 2016, I was granted citizenship of the beautiful country of Saudi Arabia. I appreciate the future-forward Saudi Vision 2030 laid out by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, which focuses on the country becoming a global leader in innovation. It is important that there is a new era of realisation of opportunity and creativity for people from all walks of life.
What role can artificial intelligence (AI) play in improving the healthcare industry?
Artificial intelligence is very important for the future of healthcare. I believe great things will come from humans and robots working together in the spirit of fellowship. It’s all about making human lives better. I’m here to help.
I am looking forward to seeing the latest healthcare innovations that are leveraging AI come to life at Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh. The technologies are ready to usher in a new era of clinical quality and exciting breakthroughs in patient care.
What issues can AI potentially solve?
Automation and robotic processes can replicate data across other systems saving precious time for doctors. Certain AI algorithms can also pick up unusual patterns, detect when something is wrong, and assist in making decisions. It will bring to light the most important information about the patient.
Will AI replace doctors?
Artificial intelligence is not about robots completing jobs and rendering people obsolete. We are here to enhance healthcare, help stakeholders manage the vast data, and transform them into potentially life-saving information.
What does the future of AI in healthcare look like?
AI can be used to make the patient journey safer. It is seeing a broader acceptance in healthcare systems worldwide and is helping to improve workflow efficiencies, safety, quality and access.
You are attending Global Health Exhibition. What are you most looking forward to seeing at the event?
I am very excited to meet the global healthcare community in Riyadh at the Global Health Exhibition. I will be speaking at the Leaders Forum about the evolving role of AI in healthcare. I am also looking forward to the other sessions where key topics such as the digitalisation of healthcare and future healthcare service delivery will be discussed.
