Ittin Square comes alive with international carnivals and musical performances

SALALAH: Ittin Square, one of the largest event sites of the Khareef Dhofar 2026 season, is welcoming visitors from Oman and abroad with a programme combining art, culture, entertainment and shopping amid Dhofar’s distinctive khareef atmosphere.

The activities, which began on 15 July, will continue until 31 August 2026.

Designed as an integrated destination for families and visitors of all ages, the square is divided into three main sections.

The first is the main stage, which is equipped with modern stage technology and visual effects. It is hosting an extensive artistic and cultural programme featuring international stage productions, musical performances and entertainment acts throughout the season.

The musical programme brings together Arab and traditional styles. Participating groups include Egypt’s Harmony Choir, a choir from Basra in Iraq and a Saudi choir, which is presenting a weekly concert throughout the event period.

The programme also includes stand-up comedy, while Mohammed Al Qahoom will present a heritage symphony and orchestral performance combining traditional musical heritage with contemporary artistic arrangements.

The second section is Perfume Street, which hosts dozens of Omani businesses alongside products from other countries. Visitors can browse perfumes, clothing and incense, including a wide range of Arab and French fragrances.

The section provides a varied shopping experience reflecting the diversity of local and international products, industries and crafts. It also includes a food court offering dining options to suit different tastes.

The third section is “Downtown/London”, a London-themed area designed in a European style and incorporating features modelled on European landmarks.

Intended for families and visitors who enjoy open-air seating, the area includes cafés and entertainment facilities. It provides a place to relax after touring the square, combining European-inspired design with the natural landscape for which Dhofar is known during the khareef season.

Ittin Square is also hosting travelling international carnivals and entertainment troupes. These include Mix Art Carnival, a large children’s carnival, and acts presented as the “Mouse Family” and “Princess Dreams” carnivals, alongside other entertainment programmes.

International performances for different age groups include acrobatics, Big Bike Orchestra, can-can performances, a moonlight-themed show and other live productions. The programme gives visitors an opportunity to experience a range of international performing arts and carnival shows.

Ittin Square serves as a major tourism and entertainment destination, bringing together culture, entertainment, shopping and live performances in one safe, family-friendly location.
