Celebrating Korea’s National Day in Riyadh: Strengthening Cultural Exchange and Bilateral Relations

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Riyadh hosted a grand dinner reception on November 6, 2025, to celebrate the National Foundation Day of the Republic of Korea, welcoming approximately 730 guests, including ambassadors from various countries, members of the Korean community, and Saudi business representatives with an interest in Korean culture and products.
The event was honored by the attendance of Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Sudairi, Undersecretary of Riyadh Region, who participated as the guest of honor. His presence underscored the growing partnership and mutual respect between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Moon Byung-jun, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, expressed sincere appreciation for the strong bilateral relationship and looked forward to continued collaboration between the two nations.
“The Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have steadily deepened their ties through cooperation in various sectors, including culture, trade, and innovation,” Ambassador Moon said. “We hope this event serves as another bridge to strengthen our friendship and mutual understanding.”
The event featured a rich cultural and culinary program.
A special Korean Agri-Food Tasting Zone, organized under the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), presented visitors with Halal-certified Hanwoo beef, premium Korean fruits such as Shine Muscat grapes and Korean pears, and a variety of red ginseng and ginseng-based health products.
Several Saudi-based influencers were also invited to experience and share the authentic flavors of Korea with a wider audience, reflecting the rising popularity of K-Food and Korean cultural trends across the Middle East.
Guests praised the reception as “a delightful and memorable celebration,” noting that the evening provided “a unique opportunity to experience the quality and diversity of Korean cuisine and culture.”
The Embassy reaffirmed its commitment to further promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Korea and Saudi Arabia while supporting enhanced cooperation in agriculture, trade, and cultural initiatives.
