It also served as a key platform for connecting industry leaders, government officials, tech innovators, and over 150 business partners from China. The HDC 2024 MEA Ecosystem Summit marked an important step forward in Huawei’s vision to propel innovation and collaboration across Saudi’s digital landscape. Like recent MOUs announced by STA in China, these key partnerships are aimed at stimulating the Saudi economy, increasing cooperation across entertainment, technology and esports sectors, and expanding the strategic vision for the Kingdom’s entertainment and tourism landscape. In this regard, the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA) spotlighted visionary projects like Qiddiya City and NEOM, designed to position Saudi as a global entertainment powerhouse and innovation hub in alignment with Vision 2030.
Attendees gained valuable insights into the logistics landscape of the MEA region, thanks to iMile, a leader in last-mile delivery solutions. Additionally, they were introduced to the groundbreaking collaboration between iDreamSky and Huawei Cloud, which is revolutionizing gaming services and user experiences across Saudi and driving innovation and fueling growth in Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving gaming ecosystem.
Saudi’s Expanding Gaming and Esports Landscape
The summit’s momentum carried forward with the AppGallery Gamers Cup (AGC) Happy Friday Finals, held on November 22nd at the VOV Gaming venue in Riyadh. In an electrifying conclusion to the AGC tournament series, the region’s outstanding gaming talent was celebrated while showcasing Saudi’s rise as a global esports hub. Sponsored by STC Bank and TPAY MOBILE, the event united the top teams from across the Kingdom in an electrifying showdown, competing for a prize pool of $20,000. Team Fury claimed victory, securing the championship title in one of the year’s most thrilling gaming tournaments, setting the tone for an even more competitive esports season ahead.
