The\nindustry-leading initiative, presented during the Group\u2019s <a><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/HyundaiMotorGroup\"><em>Unlock the Software Age<\/em><\/a> global online\nforum, will deliver an unprecedented era of mobility, giving customers the\nfreedom to remotely upgrade the performance and functionality of their vehicles\nanywhere at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The Group also shared plans to transform\nthe customer experience throughout the vehicle\u2019s entire lifetime and deliver a\nnew era of mobility via constantly evolving software technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Hyundai Motor Group\u2019s constantly evolving\nmobility and software technology will ensure that all models, including those\nalready purchased, remain up to date. This will enable vehicle functions,\nincluding safety, convenience, connectivity, security, and driving performance,\nto be upgraded via Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates. Based on the Group\u2019s\nnext-generation EV platform, integrated controller, and an internally developed\nConnected Car Operating System (ccOS), all Group vehicles will be equipped to\nreceive OTA software updates by 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The Group expects 20 million vehicles to\nbe registered to its connected car service worldwide by 2025. Connected\nvehicles equipped with cutting-edge telecommunication features will create\nunprecedented value and possibilities and provide customers personalized\nservices, such as software subscriptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, connected car data will\nnetwork with future Group mobility solutions, including Purpose Built Vehicles\n(PBVs), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), robotaxis and robots. By establishing a\nnew data platform, innovative services will be provided through connecting and\nprocessing the various data generated throughout the car life cycle, as well as\npromoting the creation of an open ecosystem in partnership with diverse\nindustries such as logistics and accommodation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The Group will also invest heavily in\nsoftware technology to integrate hardware and software technologies and enhance\nand internalize mobility technology capabilities. By 2030, the Group plans to\ninvest 18 trillion won in resources, including the establishment of a new\nGlobal Software Center to bolster its software capabilities and accelerate\nSoftware Defined Vehicle development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy transforming all vehicles to Software\nDefined Vehicles by 2025, Hyundai Motor Group will completely redefine the\nconcept of the automobile and take the lead in ushering in a\nnever-before-experienced era of mobility,\u201d said <strong>Chung Kook Park,<\/strong> <strong>President and Head\nof R&amp;D Division, Hyundai Motor Group<\/strong>. \u201cCreating visionary vehicles empowered with the ability to evolve through\nsoftware will enable customers to keep their vehicles up to date with the\nlatest features and technology long after they have left the factory.\u201d<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Over-The-Air\n(OTA) software updates for all HMG models by 2025<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">From 2023, all newly launched vehicles of\nHyundai Motor Group will be equipped to receive Over-The-Air (OTA) software\nupdates enabling customers to keep their vehicles up to date. This\ntransformation will apply not just to electric models, but also internal\ncombustion engine vehicles. All of the Group\u2019s vehicle segments sold worldwide\nwill evolve to be software defined by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Customers will be able to remotely upgrade\nthe performance and functionality of their vehicles anywhere at any time,\nwithout any need to take them to a service center. And as the vehicle can\nconstantly be updated, its residual value will also be enhanced. The Group\ninitially introduced this service in 2021, and from 2023 will expand it across\nvehicle models in global market regions able to receive Connected Car Services\n(CCS).
