Modena,\n3 October 2022<\/em> \u2013 One of the brand\u2019s icons is\nback: Maserati presents the new GranTurismo<\/strong>, marking a new chapter in a story that began 75 years ago with the\nMaserati A6 1500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GranTurismo coup\u00e9 combines the high performance\ntypical of a sports car with comfort suitable for long distances, in both the\nversion with a powerful internal combustion engine and with the most innovative\n100% electric solutions. It represents a benchmark, embodying the concept of \u201cThe\nOthers Just Travel<\/strong>\u201d. This\nmodel is taking the House of the Trident forward into the future: it is the first car in the brand\u2019s history to adopt\na 100% electric powertrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From an aesthetic point of view, the GranTurismo\ndesign represents an ideal balance between beauty and functionality, without\nostentation.  With undeniably unique and\nimmediately recognisable lines: a pure shape suitable to cover best-in-class\nmechanics, emphasising the purity of its forms and its refined design cues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The classic proportions of the brand’s cars have\nbeen maintained, with the long bonnet and the central body intersected by the\nfour fenders. Conversely, the roof line drops dynamically to emphasise the\ncurve of the pillar that features the iconic Trident logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab and\nproduced at the Mirafiori manufacturing hub in Turin, the GranTurismo is 100%\nmade in Italy and epitomises \u201cItalian luxury performance\u201d, a concept typical of\nall Maserati models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new coup\u00e9 is equipped with the revolutionary\nV6 Nettuno engine, available in two versions: the Modena<\/strong>, with the\n490-hp 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno Twin Turbo; the high-performance Trofeo<\/strong>\nversion is based on the same engine, upgraded to a maximum power of\n550 hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alternatively,\nthe GranTurismo Folgore adopts a 100% electric battery-based powertrain. The\nFolgore system is based on 800-volt technology and has been developed with\ncutting-edge technical solutions derived from Formula E. It offers superb\nperformance, made possible by the three powerful 300-kW permanent magnet\nmotors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The battery<\/strong>\nhas a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh and a discharge capacity of\n560 kW, to continuously transmit around 760 hp to the wheels.  The specific set-up and innovative layout of\nthe battery result in the containment of vehicle height to 1353 mm,\nwithout compromising its sporty nature. The shape of the battery pack, known as\n\u2018T-bone\u2019, forms part of Maserati\u2019s \u201czero compromise\u201d approach and avoids\nplacing the battery modules under the seats, mainly moving them around the central\ntunnel and therefore considerably lowering the car\u2019s H-point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of technical architecture<\/strong>, the new model is the result of an innovative\nproject that makes extensive use of lightweight materials such as aluminium and\nmagnesium, together with high-performance steel. Such a multi-material\napproach <\/strong>required\nnew manufacturing processes to be created, resulting in best-in-class weight\nlevels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach is paired with new<\/strong>\nAtlantis High electrical\/electronic\narchitecture, based on canFD messages sent at speeds of up to 2 ms.\nThe system also comes with advanced level 5 cyber-security and\nflash-over-the-air features. The\nfulcrum is the Vehicle Domain\nControl Module (VDCM)<\/strong> master\ncontroller, a 100% Maserati project consisting of the software that provides\n360\u00b0 control of all the most important car systems, for the best driving\nexperience in all conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interior, the Maserati GranTurismo\u2019s\nmodern cabin is equipped with\nInnovative systems, including the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA)\nMultimedia system, the latest infotainment, a comfort display that brings\ntogether the main functions in an integrated touchscreen interface, a digital\nclock and the Heads-up Display (available as an option).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GranTurismo also\noffers an \u201call-round sound experience\u201d, guaranteed by the iconic signature\nsound of the Maserati engine, even in the electric version thanks to innovative\nwork by engineers at the Maserati Innovation Lab. The sound experience is\ncompleted by the immersive Sonus faber 3D sound system.   Designed and\nmade by Italian craftsmen in sound, the audio system offers two levels of\ncustomisation, giving it up to 19 speakers and 3D sound with an output of up to\n1,195 W, for depth of field and truly unique roundness of sound.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At launch, the GranTurismo is also available in the\nPrimaSerie 75th<\/sup> Anniversary Launch Edition, a limited series\nfeaturing exclusive content and dedicated to its recent 75th<\/sup>\nanniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sportiness, luxury and comfort: by focusing on\ncustomer requests from the earliest stages of development onwards, the new\nGranTurismo is enabling Maserati to solve the impossible equation of combining sports performance with comfort suitable for\nlong distances, both with powerful internal combustion engines and with\nthe most innovative 100% electric solutions. It represents a benchmark in the\nsegment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
