Jeddah, 7 September 2022 \u2013 The\nupcoming 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2022) is set to\nfurther stimulate cross-border trade. Organised by the Malaysia External Trade\nDevelopment Corporation (MATRADE), under the patronage of the Ministry of\nInternational Trade and Industry (MITI), MIHAS 2022 is designed with digital\ntools to facilitate global buyers and exhibitors in marketing their Halal products\nand services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, MATRADE\u2019s flagship\nevent will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre\n(MITEC), Kuala Lumpur from 7 to 10 September 2022 with a simultaneous global\ndigital presence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Greater\ninterest and participation of burgeoning Halal markets is a critical bright\nspot and we look forward to at this year\u2019s showcase. We are excited to connect\nestablished brands and newcomers to explore the potential of the vast global\nHalal market\u201d, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MATRADE Trade Commissioner in Jeddah\nFaizalkhan Jaafar said that MIHAS has been an ideal international platform that\nattracts private and public stakeholders from all over the world, including the\nMiddle East region to source for quality Halal products from Malaysia and ideate\ninnovative solutions to cater to the development of the global Halal industry,\nwhich is estimated at USD 2.3 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malaysia\u2019s Halal exports in 2021 were\nmainly driven by the Food and Beverage, Halal Ingredients, Cosmetics and\nPersonal Care, Palm Oil Derivatives and Pharmaceutical segments.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith this\nyear\u2019s theme of \u2018Diversifying Halal Possibilities\u2019, we are excited to have\ndelegations from Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Palestine among others that will be\nexhibiting and participating in the one-on-one business meetings and as this\nevent is acknowledged as one of the key gateways into the global Halal\necosystem\u201d, Faizalkhan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIHAS 2022 will be complementing\ndigital tools to integrate three major components which is the iconic showcase\nitself, the International Sourcing Programme (INSP), which facilitates\none-to-one business meetings and the MIHAS Connect feature, an artificial\nintelligence-assisted business-matching suite that matches exhibitors to trade\nvisitors. It also features Knowledge Hub sessions with a line-up of\ndistinguished speakers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adding further value, the MIHAS Awards\nare making a comeback and poised to recognise innovative and sustainable\nexcellence showcased by local and foreign Halal brands. The awards are open to\nparticipating exhibitors and submissions are being accepted from 1 June till 1\nAugust 2022 for evaluation by accomplished Halal industry captains.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MIHAS 2022 features industry clusters\ncomprising of Pharmaceuticals, Islamic Finance, Modest Fashion, Media and\nRecreation, Cosmetics and Personal Care, Food Technology, Franchise,\nMuslim-friendly Travel, Services and Enablers, Education, and e-Commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
