Considered\nthe most prestigious event of its kind, it is the grand finale of Monterey Car\nWeek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Exceptional design and performance have set Genesis vehicles\napart since the brand\u2019s inception. In pursuing its new vision for\nelectrification, Genesis has put forward its unique design language to amplify the\nfun aspect of the driving experience. Born out of a \u201cfreestyle\u201d design\nexercise, the X Speedium Coupe inherits the brand\u2019s signature Athletic Elegance\nin an even more progressive way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.genesis.com\/NEWS\/genesis-debuts-new-concept-car---genesis-x-speedium-coupe-in-new-york\/s\/4573f093-3cc7-4950-82f8-02cf19062a7d\">The\nX Speedium Coupe concept made its debut in April at Genesis House New York. <\/a>First\nshown as an exterior model, its interior design was developed over the past\nfive months by the Genesis design group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe X Speedium Coupe was conceived as an internal design\nexercise that we later decided to reveal publicly. It was nothing more than a\nhard model built on our Athletic Elegance design identity,\u201d said Genesis Chief\nCreative Officer Luc Donckerwolke. \u201cGiven the positive reception it received at\nthe event, we chose to complete the concept and present it to discerning\nattendees at the Pebble Beach Concours. The interior captures the Genesis\nbrand\u2019s \u201cBeauty of White Space\u201d design ethos, which suits various luxury\nlifestyles and adds to the appeal of the dynamic GT.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exterior Styling that\nEmbodies Genesis\u2019 Timeless Design Identity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The Genesis X Speedium Coupe\u2019s most eye-catching exterior\nfeature is the extended full-width lamps that reinterpret the Crest Grille.\nThis detail carries the brand\u2019s signature look into the electrification era\nwhile symbolizing Genesis\u2019 transformation to a pure electric car brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The shape of the body resembles an hourglass when viewed from\nabove. The curvaceous form accentuates the wheel arches and creates a muscular\npresence. From the side, the Parabolic Line extends from the front to the rear.\nThe deliberate \u201canti-wedge\u201d profile gives the car a relaxed attitude, which is\nbalanced by tension between convex and concave surfaces. The elliptical tail\nand V-shaped brake light combine to create a striking contrast at the rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Named after Korea\u2019s\nfamed Inje Speedium race circuit, the X Speedium Coupe embodies Genesis\ndesigners\u2019 passion for motorsports. The car\u2019s metallic emerald hue, Inje Green,\nis named after the mountainous landscape that surrounds the racetrack. It\ncompletes the image of a classic car that personifies dynamism, speed, and\ntimeless elegance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Driver-Oriented\nLayout and UI Concept<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The interior of the\nGenesis X Speedium Coupe leverages a classic Korean design principle known as\n\u201cthe Beauty of White Space.\u201d Inspired by Korean architecture, this aligns\nclosely with the ideology of reductive design and is expressed though a\nminimalist and pure form language punctuated by strong design elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The asymmetric,\ndriver-oriented layout is a continuation of the theme found on Genesis\u2019 more\nrecent concept cars, in which all the control systems and displays surround the\ndriver. The instrument panel and floating center console wrap around the driver\ncockpit, amplifying the driving experience in the era of electrification. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">This effect is further\naccentuated by the interior\u2019s contrasting color palette, which clearly distinguishes\nthe driver\u2019s area from the passenger space. The driver\u2019s seating area is set in\nPinegrove Green, which perfectly complements the Inje Green exterior. The\ncontrasting Monterey Gold around the driver\u2019s seat\u2014a color inspired by the\nscenery along the Northern California coast\u2014alludes to the yellow flowers and\ngolden sand found in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, Genesis is\nexploring the future of audio experiences through a new sound architecture, which blends technology and art while highlighting the brand\u2019s attention to\ndetail. In collaboration with sound mater Guk-il Yu, the head of Metal Sound\nDesign\u2014a\ncompany that specializes in\nhigh-performance speakers\u2014the\nX Speedium Coupe features strategically-placed speakers to fill the interior\nwith rich sound. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Tweeters, midrange\nspeakers, woofers and subwoofer are strategically positioned to provide the\nfinest staging sound experience. The aluminum tweeters, which emit high-pitched\nsounds, were flawlessly crafted with a precision milling method to optimize\nacoustic performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The driver-focused\ncockpit has a curved OLED display that visualizes the heritage of\nhigh-performance cars. The cluster\u2019s GUI includes a center-mounted motor output\nindicator designed in a \u201cnewtro\u201d style, which is a stark contrast to the RPM\ngauges found in ICE models.
