RIYADH:\nRiyadh Airports Company inaugurated an advanced airport operations control\ncenter at King Khalid International Airport to boost efficiency and\nsustainability in operations, as well as improve passenger experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ncontrol center is the main hub in an airport where internal and external\npartners work together to manage airport operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ncenter lets parties make decisions based on real-time information and\nestablishes systems to enable a common focus by all airport stakeholders on\npunctuality, process quality and improvements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ninauguration ceremony was attended by Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, president of the\nSaudi General Authority of Civil Aviation; Ghazi bin Abdul Rahim Al-Rawi,\nchairman of the board of directors of Riyadh Airports; and Mohammed bin\nAbdullah Al Maghlouth, Riyadh Airports Company CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting\non the launch of the center, Al-Maghlouth said: \u201cWe are pleased to inaugurate\nthe Operations Control Center at KKIA, which will enable Riyadh Airports\nCompany to fully control all its operations in its various facilities. It\nallows for data-driven proactive measures, which contribute to better planning\nprocesses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ncontrol center will manage almost 700 daily flights including passenger and\nfreight aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\naims to improve the level of services provided to more than 30 million\npassengers annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\nwill help in the immediate sharing of information and more effective\ndecision-making to enhance the flow of operational movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ncenter includes more than 25 operational, security and service agencies and\ncontains the latest operational systems related to the management of resources,\noperational monitoring, and performance indicators for airport management\naround the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\nApril this year, Al-Duailej launched the advanced digital platform OFOQ as part\nof Riyadh Airports Company\u2019s digital transformation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\ncame as part of the broader objectives of the Kingdom to become a global leader\nin the digital economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OFOQ\nacts as a central database and management tool for all operational processes in\nKKIA. By providing insights into operational procedures from a single platform,\nOFOQ enables proactive and data-driven decision-making measures, helping to\nimprove planning processes, minimize disruptions and improve the passenger\nexperience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nresource management system feature enables teams to automatically control and\nschedule airport procedures, such as aircraft parking, opening and closing\ncheck-in counters as well as passenger boarding gates, and managing baggage\nconveyors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
