The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2022, in Davos, Switzerland, with a high-level delegation set to attend a number of meetings between 22 \u2013 26 May. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
WEF is returning after a two-year\nabsence because of the pandemic, and the theme for this year\u2019s event \u2013 which\nhas been billed as the most significant in the event\u2019s history \u2013 is “History\nat a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His Excellency Dr. Ibrahim bin\nAbdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet of Ministers, is\nheading the Kingdom\u2019s delegation, which includes Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin\nAbdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency the Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al\nFalih, Minister of Investment, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan,\nMinister of Finance, His Excellency Eng. Abdullah bin Amer AlSwaha, Minister of\nCommunications and Information Technology, His Excellency Mr. Faisal bin Fadhil\nAlibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, and Princess Haifa bint Muhammad\nAl Saud. Assistant Minister of Tourism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saudi delegation to WEF will\nengage in meaningful dialogues with the Kingdom\u2019s international partners in\nseveral public and private sessions to seek solutions to critical global\nchallenges including climate change, the emerging economic crisis, disrupted\nlogistics and supply chains, geopolitical tensions, global energy security and the\nongoing fallout from the pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation will highlight the\nKingdom’s continuous local and international efforts to respond to the eight\nmain themes of this year’s meetings at WEF, which cover climate and nature,\nfairer economies, tech and innovation, jobs and skills, better business, health\nand healthcare, global cooperation, society and equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members from the Saudi delegation\nwill also outline the Kingdom\u2019s achievements in responding to the global\nchallenges presented by these themes. They will showcase the qualitative leap\nunderway across Saudi\u2019s socioeconomic and business landscape as it forges ahead\nwith its ambitious diversification efforts under Vision 2030. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kingdom\u2019s comprehensive social\nand economic empowerment plans \u2013 including doubling the representation of women\nin the labor market, accelerating the pace of job creation in new sectors \u2013\nwill also be discussed in detail during the delegation\u2019s meetings in Davos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saudi delegation will also\ntouch on the Kingdom\u2019s widely-lauded COVID-19 response and recovery efforts,\nthe nation\u2019s burgeoning healthcare industry, with public health and safety\nbecoming an increasingly important economic measure of progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the climate-action\npolicies and environmental projects underway in the Kingdom and the Middle\nEast, including the “The Middle East Green\u201d initiative, will be explored\nby the delegation as they outline the Kingdom\u2019s commitment to prioritizing sustainability\nat all levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation will also present the\nKingdom\u2019s long-term vision for the future and its strategic goal of developing\na robust pipeline of talent while attracting foreign talents to accelerate the\nadoption of smart solutions, advanced technologies and Fourth Industrial\nRevolution applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Saudi delegation will also outline its\nview on the security of resources and commodities, as well as its pivotal role\nin ensuring the security and stability of energy markets. It will also its long-term\ninvestments into innovative, clean and renewable energy sources to diversify the\nlocal and global energy mix. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s World Economic Forum\nis expected to attract more than 2,500 high-level leaders. They include state\nleaders, business leaders, investors, policy- and decision-makers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session\u2019s being held at WEF\nthis year have been designed to coincide with the fast-evolving geopolitical\nand economic disruptions which have imposed serious challenges on global growth\nand prosperity. The Forum seeks to promote joint international action to build a\ncommon ground to overcoming the current circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In July 2021, the Kingdom\nwitnessed the inauguration of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center in\nRiyadh, which is the fifth in the world, within the framework of strengthening\npartnership with the World Economic Forum. the center aims to enhance flexible\ngovernance and regulatory frameworks used to harness new technologies for the\nbenefit of the government and the business sector And benefit from the system\nof centers affiliated with the World Economic Forum worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The World Economic Forum is an\nindependent international non-profit organization that aims to develop the\nworld by encouraging business, policies, and scientific aspects. The forum was\nfounded by Professor Klaus Schwab in 1971 in Switzerland. with offices in a\nnumber of major global cities.
