This year\u2019s event, Lexus: Sparks\nof Tomorrow, will present a trio of design explorations, all inspired by Lexus\u2019\nhuman-centered, future-oriented approach to design. Compelling and engaging,\nLexus: Sparks of Tomorrow, will include an immersive installation by\naward-winning architect and designer Germane Barnes with lighting design studio\nAqua Creations, new prototypes from LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2022 finalists, and work\nby students at London\u2019s Royal College of art envisioning a more sustainable\nfuture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lexus has partnered with Germane\nBarnes to create a new iteration of the ON\/ installation unveiled for Design\nMiami\/ 2021, this time collaborating with Aqua Creations to highlight a\ncommitment to expert craftsmanship and high-quality materiality that is central\nto Lexus\u2019 ethos. This version of the installation, debuting in Milan, takes the\nRZ as the central inspiration, the first dedicated battery-electric model in\nthe Lexus line-up. The installation is centered around a precisely-to-scale,\nthree-dimensional sculptural realization of the RZ, rendered in steel and\nilluminated; the frame of the car glows and is suspended just above the ground,\na vision of a more sustainable future coming into focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Concurrent with this installation\nin Milan, the wireframe model of the LF-Z from Design Miami\/ 2021 will be on\nview at Lexus\u2019 luxury brand experience space, INTERSECT BY LEXUS \u2013 TOKYO,\nbringing the Lexus\u2019 vision of an electrified, carbon-neutral future into focus\nworldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Building on this principle of a\nconcept coming to life, the installation will feature Aqua Creations\u2019 Code 130\u00b0\ncollection of colorful pendant lights illuminating the vehicle, which add a\ndelicate, material and joyful quality to the immersive installation. Shifting\nfrom the futuristic lighting scheme featured in Miami, the lighting from Aqua\nCreations creates an elegant, physical embodiment of electricity that exemplifies\na shared commitment to principles of design excellence evident in the expertly\ncrafted RZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ON\/ creates an environment that\nis designed to engage viewers of all ages, providing an experience that is both\nvisually dynamic and interactive while offering an inviting space to recharge\nand reflect. The installation will be accompanied by an adjacent lounge area\nfeaturing the new ToTeM lighting collection by Aqua Creations, providing\ndiscrete areas for rest, repose and recharging \u2014 reflecting the brand\u2019s\ncommitment to the principle of Omotenashi (exceptional hospitality).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
