Lulu Hypermarket in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the\nMinistry of Culture today launched the Year of Saudi Coffee 2022, a grand\npromotion meant to draw attention to the culinary and cultural significance of\nSaudi-grown coffee beans and its unique traditional and symbolism as a marker\nof Saudi hospitality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The word coffee itself is derived from the Arabic word Qahwa<\/strong><\/em> and\nSaudi Arabia has many indigenous varieties of coffee berry which are cultivated\nand processed for the world\u2019s favourite hot beverage. Some famous Saudi-grown\ncoffee brands are Yatooq, Najdya, Jabaliyah, Red Gold,etc.. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The campaign was launched in the presence of\nrepresentatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Culinary Arts Commission, and\nthe Saudi Coffee Initiative team, at LuLu\nHypermarket, Atyaf Mall who were welcomed by the director of LuLu Hypermarkets\nSaudi Arabia Mr.Shehim Mohammed and LuLu Officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The campaign will see LuLu Hypermarkets in Saudi Arabia supporting\nthe efforts of Saudi Coffee to underscore the local heritage of the product as\nLuLu joins the move to change the reference to \u201cArabic Coffee\u201d across the\nKingdom to \u201cSaudi Coffee\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The focus will be on promoting Saudi Khawlani coffee as an\nindigenous bean which has been passed down for generations by the ancient\ntribes of Khawlan who have grown and processed Khawlani coffee beans in the\nverdant valleys of Jazan, a region in the southern-most tip of Arabia, for over\n300 years. Khawlani coffee beans are considered amongst some of the most\nreputable coffee beans in the world and described as the green gold of Jazan\nregion, one of the biggest producers of coffee in the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Saudi Arabia is also one of the largest producers of Arabica\ncoffee in the world, and Saudis are ranked as some of the finest consumers of\nthe beverage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLuLu will join in the Year of Saudi Coffee as a key promoter and we shall\nstart using distinctive Year of Saudi Coffee 2022 artwork on all point of sale\nmaterials such as Reusable bags, Paper cups and Facial tissue as a visual\nreminder of the Saudi Coffee heritage,\u201d said Mr. Shehim Mohammed, \u201cThere will\nbe a dedicated Saudi Coffee section in our in-store roasteries, featuring the\nKhawlani and other Saudi coffee brands.
