As\npart of its constant programs to help promote sporting events organized in the\nKingdom of Saudi Arabia, which all come in line with the Kingdom\u2019s Vision 2030,\nMG Saudi supported \u201cRally Jameel”, the first-ever off-road rally for women\nin the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, with a participation of two\nSaudi contestants, Nada Hambazaza and Samar Rahbini in, which took place on\n17-19 March 2022. Nada Hambazaza\ncompeted under the name of her team \u201cThe Advisor\u201d, during which she drove the\nMG HS car, while the other contestant Samar Rahbini performed under the name of\nher team \u201cBrave 1\u201d, where she drove the MG RX8 car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr.\nFaisal Malaikah, MD of Taajeer Group, praised MG Saudi\u2019s participation in this\nevent by saying: \u201cWe support everything that would empower Saudi woman and\nenhance her sporting performance, particularly in car-related championships\nsuch as “Rally Jameel”, in order to realize more achievements at both\nlocal as well as the regional levels and to showcase an honoring image of the\nSaudi woman while representing a pride for the country through her various\naccomplishments.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At\nthe participation of 64 female contestants from more than 15 countries around\nthe world, “Rally Jameel” started from the city of Hail and passed\nacross the city of Qassim and ended in the capital city, Riyadh. It represented\nan ideal opportunity for women who are passionate about off-road adventure. The\ncompetition did not require speed, but rather relies on the team\u2019s navigational\nskills, to cross the track that covers 400 km distance every day, and to reveal\nthe track for each stage daily, under different climatic conditions and tough\nterrains. All these factors represented a great challenge for the contesting\nteams. This exceptional event was sponsored by the Saudi Automobile and\nMotorcycle Federation and was supported by the FIA through a women’s\nmotorsports committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nresults of the championship announced the contestant Samar Rahbini and her\nnavigator Walaa Rahbini from Brave 1 Team, as third place winners in the AW4\ncategory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commenting on the\nevent, Samar Rahbini said: \u201cWhen I first heard about Rally Jameel, I believed\nthat it would be an outstanding opportunity for me, although the rally is\nnavigational in nature and is held on an off-road, which I have not experienced\nbefore, yet, the competing with other women was a very special idea. For me,\u201d she added, \u201cI am very happy to have\nbeen chosen among 20 Saudi women to participate in the first rally of its kind.\nJust participating in Rally Jameel is an important addition from which I\nderived experience to enhance my skills and start my career in the world of\nrallying and motorsport, and I was very happy to achieve this honorable result\nfor my country, especially that the first women\u2019s rally in the Arab world took\nplace in Saudi Arabia.\u201d She concluded: \u201cAll thanks and gratitude to Taajeer\nGroup and MG Saudi for their full support our Brave 1 team and for presenting\nthe MG RX8 Black Edition all-wheel drive car, which excelled in its performance\nand has credited, after God Almighty, to me and my sister, the navigator, Walaa\nRahbini, in overcoming many of the difficulties that we faced, especially at\nthe off-road of the race.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From their side,\nTaajeer Group and MG Saudi gave best support to the Brave 1 and the Advisor\nteams by providing the cars in addition to the full logistical support from the\nafter-sales service team and their presence within Al Nufud desert throughout\nthe race stages in anticipation of any emergency, as they escorted the teams\nthat were on board of the MG RX8 & MG HS models, starting from Hail through\nAl Qassim to the last destination in Riyadh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
